Where Are the Prayer Meetings?

Prayer meetings need to be a regular part of the DNA of the church because it is a good idea to have a meeting without any agenda other than to seek God.

It is sad when prayer becomes only a means, or a formality, or a courtesy in God’s church. It is sad when we pray before sermons, meals, meetings because it is the formal thing to do, not because we believe that without God’s Holy Spirit released from the place of prayer will we be able to do what is necessary for mission. It is sad when we lack a context to hear the voice of God found in prayer.

And these are symptoms of the disease known as our poor attitudes towards prayer meetings as an American church.
