On Shame & Guilt

Christian psychologist Lewis Smedes defines shame and guilt in this way:

We feel guilty for what we do. We feel shame for we are…We may feel guilty because we lied to our mother. We may feel shame because we are not the persons our mother wanted us to be.”

Profound. Love it.
