Being Formed For Ministry (2/2)

You turn things upside down! Shall the potter be regarded as the clay,
that the thing made should say of its maker, “He did not make me”;
or the thing formed say of him who formed it, “He has no understanding”?

Isaiah 29:16

A second lesson to note is this: God is often more interested in what he’s doing in us than what he is doing through us.

It is true that we are God’s workmanship created to do good work. But remember, that before the pot is actually useful for noble purposes, the pot needs to be formed and shaped itself.

And so in ministry, we shouldn’t be surprised when our walk with God is showing little fruit. We’re thinking efficiency, results, etc.. God is thinking transformation.

Before we have our own ministry project, we should remember that we are his ministry project.
